Art and Design Theory BA

The course trains professionals that are able to identify and analyse the complex (e.g. historical, social, communicative and philosophical) relationships found in visual culture, the object-oriented world and architecture. Students are introduced to methods of analysis in philosophy, communication theory, art history and social science as well as the integrated, interdisciplinary and critical application of the techniques acquired. An important element of the curriculum is to provide our students with in-depth knowledge of the various creative processes that take place in the different areas of art and design. A specialty of the programme in Hungary is that students in Theoretical Studies study in small seminar groups along with designer students.
