MOME Anim rocked at Visegrád Animation Forum

visegrad animation forum

Visegrad Animation Forum was organised in Trebon, Czech Republic between 6-8 May. Visegrad countries, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania and the Baltic nations participated the event, which is mainly a “market access platform“. It tries to attract new partners, producers, broadcasters, and film distributors along with sharing ideas of how to finance short animated films and TV series.

The Forum has been organised for 4 years with the aim of linking the region’s animation industries and national broadcasting televisions. As usual, Hungary was represented by MOME at this year’s forum. The three-day event featured thematic talks, workshops and presentation of TV series and short movies: altogether 10-10 projects were presented.

3 TV series and 5 short movies were selected from Hungary in the first place, yet at the end MOME projects won in both categories. The winner of Short films is Operation Burning Corset directed by Zsuzsanna Kreif and Éva Katinka Bognár. Special mention for TV series in development went to How the World Began TV series by Tamás Iván, which was originally his MOME Anim diploma project.
