Organised each year by the Animation department of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME Anim), KISKAKAS Animation Celebration offers a selection from the most recent, emerging, innovative works from the world of animation. Taking place on 28-29 April 2017 (Friday and Saturday) in Toldi Cinema, Budapest, KISKAKAS hosts three leading animation schools from France: Gobelins l’école de l’image, La Poudriere and EMCA Angouleme.
The Animation department of MOME presents several screening programs this year. In the MOME Anim Premier block we can see the most recent MA diploma films, as well as the shorts of the Contemporary Children’s Poems 2 series realised in the framework of the department’s incubation program. MOME Anim Fresh presents the workshop films of the past few years, while the MOME Anim Trash block gives a selection from a wide range of innovative, exciting works created at the department, but never presented to the public before.

A novelty in the program of KISKAKAS Animation Celebration this year is the MOME Anim Grafix comic book and graphic design exhibition and fair: opening at 5:00 pm both on 28 and 29 April, the works of MOME Anim students will be on display with the young artists personally present.
Another colourful addition to the program is the premier of the 2017 edition of the EURANIM video mapping Budapest module, where the international student team work in MOME Ponton Openspace for a week with Tamás Zádor (Glowing Bulbs/ Kiégő Izzók). Their 10-minute video mapping piece will be screened on an installation in Toldi Klub on 28 April at 10:30 pm. The premier is followed by a party organised by MOME HÖK (Students’ Union).
