The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest is not only an institution of higher education but also an intellectual workshop with a broader scope and a higher aim. Launched by the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest, MOME Laboratory on the one hand is an initiative to present the intellectual processes in a non-conventional way and on the other hand a guarantee for a high standard. The "research field of the laboratory" is a frontier with the characteristics of experimentation, integrative thinking, interdisciplinarity and a qualitative approach without compromise. MOME Laboratory as a trademark program promotes outstanding values and work of arts born in the intellectual stretch of MOME.

MOME Laboratory's first exhibition "Ábris Gryllus: Syntonyms" was opened on the 12th of September, 2012 in Budapest's Design Terminal. Syntonmys is the diploma work of the recently graduated Ábris Gryllus. The work of art was chosen for exhibition because it in itself reflects László Moholy-Nagy's modernist approach that is the integration of different fields – technology and science - into the arts. Syntonyms is installed in a huge black shell made by MOME students Wanda Reich and Noémi Varga.
