Spectacular car designs at Mercedes-MOME consultation

For more than ten years there has been a lively and efficient cooperation between MOME, Mercedes-Benz Design and Mercedes-Benz Hungary. Talented students of the university have had the opportunity to present their ideas and concepts regularly to experts of one of the most powerful German car manufacturers. For this year’s first annual meeting in January, Chief Designer Gorden Wagener and his two collagues, Exterior Chief Designer Robert Lešnik and Exterior Design Manager Thomas Sälzle came to Budapest – their very presence indicates Mercedes-Benz’s substantial interest in the creative work at MOME. The well-known car designer Stefan Lengyel who led the Department of Product Design between 2001 and 2007 and whose activity was crucial in establishing the connection between the university and the Mercedes and Gábor Németh former student of MOME now a staff member of Mercedes Design in Sindelfingen were also present at the show. Beyond the professional consultation, József Fülöp rector had a personal meeting with Gorden Wagener and Ingo Fröhlich, CEO of Mercedes Hungary too – they discussed possibilities of further cooperation, among others those concerning the development of the university campus and the future of ’holistic’ car design in general.
