The Innovation Center of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) invites early to mid-career researchers to apply to its first Research Fellowship program in the field of Data Storytelling.

We encourage applications in the following two fields: Data & participation, and Data literacy. Researchers with proposals that do not directly fall under the proposed topics but still offer an interdisciplinary approach are also encouraged to apply.

Research fellowship is planned to last between 12-24 months. The research should be interdisciplinary in its nature and should capitalize on the design expertise and practical knowledge available at MOME.

Research fellowship is planned to last between 12-24 months and should be interdisciplinary in its nature, capitalizing on the design expertise and practical knowledge available at MOME. Additionally, fellows will be expected to reside in Budapest.

Focus Areas

Within this open call, we invite applications from researchers working in areas related to Data storytelling. We especially encourage applications in the following two fields: Data and Participation, and Data Literacy.

Expected Outputs

Fellows will be expected to complete at least one research paper for presentation at (international) conferences and for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The projects are also expected to contribute towards solving global social, environmental, or economic challenges with practical solutions.

Offer

Fellows will receive: a one-way airfare to Budapest and relocation assistance; access to campus office spaces, workshops, and tech equipment; possibility to qualify for equipment and material costs; and a monthly allowance based on prior qualifications. See more here.

Application

Eligibility

Applicants must: hold a PhD degree in any field of science; demonstrate a successful academic publication record; be interested to work closely with designers in interdisciplinary teams; relocate to and be primarily based in Budapest for the duration of the program.
