A series of photographs taken using various photographic techniques, based on a visit to two senior centres in Budapest.
These centres aim to help the local elderly with their daily lives, providing them with a community as well as mental and physical support. During her visits, Sára Hecker asked the residents about their lives, and their extraordinary stories inspired the photographs’ compositions. To create her series of photographs, she used several photographic techniques, including Polaroid, cyanotype and photo collage, and she took the photographs with a pinhole camera, medium format and small film analogue cameras, a digital camera, a video camera, a LomoKino 35 analogue video camera and a mobile phone. The font sizes of the interview transcripts behind the pictures tell the audience about the length of the conversations: the smaller the font size, the longer the interview.
