Serial production or custom design? Dóra Becker will be the next speaker of the Forma Norma series
MOME Product Design is organising presentations on various product design topics every two weeks also this year, discussing the present and future, important dilemmas, issues, and intersections of product design with our teachers, former students, and industry professionals.
After graduation, Dóra Becker started working for LumoConcept as a technical and product designer. She was involved in projects such as the Opera House, the Four Seasons Hotel, Mol Campus and Yama Restaurant. In additional to working with digital designs, they carry out various production and repair processes at their own workshop, which is nearly unprecedented nationally and globally. In her lecture on 4 October, she will share the challenges and peculiarities of custom production.
“I would like to provide a glimpse into the practical execution of designs through the lens of a small business and the world beyond a good concept and render. I will discuss what you can learn from each project, how you can incorporate it into the next project, and what the constant optimisation and development of design and manufacturing processes is like for a small firm. I will also cover what design collaborations look like in our case, and how we get involved in various project processes.”
Participation is free of charge and open to everyone. The lecture will be held in English.
