The Architecture MA programme delivers training with an emphasis on complexity, and architectural conceptualisation grounded in research. Students gain proficiency in both individual and group assignments, and an understanding of all aspects of architectural design.
Project-based work is the main focus of this highly autonomous and proactive community’s activity. The studios with realistic programmes are led by active practitioners, facilitating research, exploration, creative process and critical discourse in an innovative, open setting.
By providing an international outlook and exploring overlapping areas with other fields, it delivers progressive and forward-looking solutions to today’s challenges. This internationally competitive degree enables our graduates to find work at the most prominent architecture firms or to take on all-round freelance design jobs.

What will the University of the Future, the student of the future, and the artist of the future look like? At the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME)’s 2024 Open Day on 25 October, you’ll have the chance to explore programmes such as Product Design, Animation, Design Culture, Photography, and Designer-Maker. You can also explore the inspiring spaces of one of the leading creative universities in the region, the sports facilities, the park, and the University of the Future project, and pick up essential tips on building a winning admissions portfolio.
Organised with professional support from MOME for the 3rd year in a row, the CheckINN Revitaliser idea competition invited university students from across Hungary to submit plans for the revitalisation of approximately 12,000 hectares of unused rust zone and brownfield sites in the country for potentially touristic purposes. The winning team, whose members include several MOME students, focused on rejuvenating the barren Pilis-tető by repurposing its abandoned buildings and restoring the surrounding natural environment.
At the Best of MOME ‘23, this year’s top MA diploma projects from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design made their debut on 14 October at the Kastner Kommunity. The event highlighted the questions and issues that occupy the minds of the youngest generation of designers and the various design responses to them.

The lecture series of the MOME Architecture Institute presents outstanding national and international architects, designers, and thinkers, who will provide a glimpse into their work around the built environment. Our next speaker will be teacher at KU Leuven and associate of Rotor Stijn Colon.
At the next Architectural Matters event of the MOME Institute of Architecture on November 7, this time, in an unusual way, the participants can listen to a guided round table discussion with Vidic Grohar Arhitekti and Mertelj Vrabič Arhitekti, the curators of the Slovenian pavilion of the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale, as well as Arhitekti Počivašek Petranovič.
Facilities
Mainly intended for architecture students – creating and shaping models, mock-ups and prototypes through learning about woodworking technologies.
