2022-ben, a Harvard University Press gondozásában megjelent The Triumph of Broken Promises: The End of the Cold War and the Rise of Neoliberalism című könyvében amellett érvel, hogy az 1970-es évek gazdasági csapásai hogyan segítették elő a hidegháború végét és a neoliberalizmus felemelkedését.
