VR and interactive digital tools in healthcare and psychological practice

VR and interactive digital tools in healthcare and psychological practice
A session open to professionals as well as those with an interest in the topic.
Date and time: Wednesday, 9 December 2025, 5:00 p.m.
Venue: Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Gond-űző
Our aim is to bring together a community of professionals where psychologists, therapists, and (educational) developers can exchange their experiences of using VR and interactive technologies in therapeutic practice.
Beyond the real-world experiences discussed by presenters, we’ll also look at the design and usability of these tools, as well as the evidence-based principles behind them.
The event begins with short presentations from psychologists and therapists, followed by themed small-group discussions. These sessions will explore key ethical, design, and impact-assessment questions around VR-based therapies, such as How can the effects of VR experiences be measured? What ethical dilemmas does the virtual environment introduce in therapeutic contexts? And how can VR be tailored for older adults or other vulnerable groups?
Several applications will also be debuted, including Hungarian developments and tools already used effectively in local clinical settings. We seek to encourage meaningful professional dialogue around VR and digital storytelling, and to spark an inspiring exchange of ideas.
How to get involved
As a speaker
Would you like to share your own experience?
We welcome submissions until 14 November from those who would like to give a short, roughly seven-minute talk on how they use VR or other digital, story-driven applications in their therapeutic work. Submissions will be assessed on the relevance of the proposed topic or abstract and how well it aligns with the purpose of the call.
