National and international tenders
The Directorate supports the university’s teachers, researchers, experts, and doctoral students to become involved in international networks and realise their professional objectives through tenders. Our activities range from seeking out current tender opportunities to concept development and submission of tender applications, and includes promoting, encouraging and implementing participation in national and international, in particular EU-funded, programmes.
Tenders
Building on the positive changes resulting from reconfiguration of the organisational format facilitated by the model change, this project will improve operational efficiency in particular through the development of digital equipment, infrastructure of practical trainings, and digital competencies, as well as the updating of training contents. In addition, it will also enable service developments required for strengthening international engagement.
The aim of the Cooperative Doctoral Programme is to further increase the number of employees in the field of research, development and innovation who wish to enrich their professional knowledge with the latest scientific research results and are committed to the social and economic exploitation of their knowledge.
The New National Excellence Programme is an academic and artistic research scholarship programme launched in 2016 in a variety of subjects and aimed at promoting student and researcher excellence in higher education.
Our university participated in the HSUP programme (STARTUP-2023-HSUP-005) also in the 2022/2023 academic year, receiving a HUF 53 million grant from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund for the implementation of the programme with the contribution of the Express Innovation Agency.
The project, funded under Horizon Europe, aims to strengthen the bio-based economy (bioeconomy) and promote sustainable regional development in the participating countries and in Europe through design thinking, co-creation, art and design and skills development.
AdornU is the joint project that brings together three prominent European art universities, namely Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design as the head of the consortium from Budapest, Hungary, Trier University of Art and Science from Germany, and the Estonian Academy of Art from Tallinn, Estonia, aiming at at creating an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters programme in the field of Contemporary Artistic Jewellery.
The Change Agents project wishes to bring the academic sector and the NGO ecosystem closer to one another and generate deeper understanding between these important stakeholders, allowing stakeholders to advance a more collaborative, inclusive, and participatory practice of design and design education, while recognizing the already existing knowledge of activists and various stakeholders, using innovative approaches of social design.
Shaping The Future is an international project, co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, aimed to foster the capacity of artists to imagine and shape the future through visual arts, design and critical thinking.
BALATORIUM is part of the project of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture, and it is a professionally sound way to raise awareness of the ecological challenges of the region. Through cultural and artistic projects, it initiates a dialogue on the ecological system and values of Lake Balaton. It promotes long-term cooperation between scientific institutions and the cultural sector and through these activities gives an international dimension to the ecological challenges of Lake Balaton and its region and to artistic and cultural events that reflect these challenges.
Knowledge management is one of the key activities of the Innovation Center. In spring 2019, the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) launched a call for proposals for the development of the field under the name ‘University Innovation Ecosystem 2019-1.2.1-EGYETEMI ÖKO’.

The Balaton Bútor Kft. and the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design have won 498.63 million HUF non-refundable EU funding under the Széchenyi 2020 Competitive Central Hungary Operational Programme with their application entitled "Smart Office for Future Generations".
The HEAD programme for primary and secondary schools is a pedagogical programme for the effective development of problem-solving thinking. The programme uses a specific methodology of project-based education, inspired by the world of innovation industry and design, which adapts the steps of design thinking to teaching-learning situations.
The goal of the project is to develop and provide technical and practical skills to primary and secondary school students and recent graduates with values and experiences that will increase their interest in higher education in the longer term, including in the fields of mathematics, science, engineering, IT and design, with a particular focus on autonomous (self-driving) driving.
Sustainable Transitions through Democratic Design
CoDesign4Transitions is a four-year doctoral network that brings together eight universities in seven countries who will recruit and supervise a cohort of 13 transdisciplinary Doctoral Candidates.
