Object design

This module covers the design assignments of the programme. After the first integrated semester, students develop their professional knowledge over five semesters, focusing on content that matches their chosen specialisation. By building an integrated knowledge of the thinking, material use and technological skills of the given specialisation, students proceed, over the semesters, from making simple objects to completing increasingly complex assignments. These typically focus on providing an understanding of the complexity of award trophies, object sets or an architectural task, as well as putting design in a cultural, social and technological context. The design processes involve real market players as far as possible, and assignments are often linked to current national and international competitions, supporting participation and engagement by students in these.
