Specialisation: Ceramic Design

The Ceramic Design specialisation of the Designer Maker programme focuses on combining contemporary ceramic design approaches and traditional craftsmanship. It enables students to acquire practical experience in MOME’s well-equipped workshops, and to master the relevant visual language and formal methods, incorporated into contemporary discourse. The aim is to provide a supportive environment for students to develop their creative skills and expertise in using silicate materials. Another important requirement is to ensure that artists of the future are able to adapt the cultural legacy of ceramic design. In addition to learning a broad spectrum of design and autonomous creative strategies, students have the opportunity to explore large-scale production techniques, low-run custom production processes, and special firing techniques.
