Specialisation: Digital Craft
The Digital Craft specialisation within the Designer Maker programme offers students an integrated understanding of digital object design thinking, design skills (such as design thinking, creative design and critical approach methodology) and digital manufacturing (3D Printing, 3D Scanning, Laser Cutting, CNC Milling and Physical Computing) through the mastery of design and manufacturing processes. The programme takes a workshop-oriented approach, enabling students to familiarise themselves with contemporary digital tools and related work processes, which they then use to produce tangible prototypes. Traditional craft knowledge of technologies and materials, combined with new technologies and creative design methodologies, prepare students to complete increasingly complex design assignments.
