Teaching Practice

The Teaching Practice module forms the backbone of both semesters of our programme. Its aim is to enable students to directly explore the teaching and learning process. This includes both observing classroom learning and actually practicing teaching. The teaching practice takes place in different learning and teaching settings. This allows everybody to experience both the 45-minute Visual Culture classes and the opportunities provided by broader time frames in vocational arts education. It also gives students the opportunity to explore extracurricular education, such as museum pedagogy. During their teaching practice, by thoughtfully designing activities, students are expected to develop as many different methods as possible, and to use them as a means for effective the visual development of their students. The module helps students learn about and design innovative pedagogical tools.
