Future Traditions - Török Évad

The goal of the Future Traditions program is to engage our audience in the cultural and visual dialogue that has emerged over the past two millennia through the continuous development, transformation, adaptation, and interplay of folk art techniques, decorative elements, and motifs linked to the culture of clothing.

In 2024, the Government of Hungary, in collaboration with Turkey, announced a joint Hungarian-Turkish cultural season to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, in partnership with the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul’s Marmara University, is implementing an interdisciplinary program. This initiative focuses on reinterpreting and contemporizing the traditional world of folk craftsmanship and ornamentation.

The program titled Future Traditions – Turkish Season, with the reference number TÖRÖK-ÉVAD-24-0026, took place within the framework of the Hungarian–Turkish Cultural Season, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation and the National Cultural Fund of Hungary. The amount of the grant: HUF 6,000,000.
