Only “yes” means yes - The MOME community observed a ten-minute silence in solidarity

Date: 2025.12.09
In response to an initiative launched by students of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, students at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design organised a solidarity action of their own. Before the start of the Senate meeting on 8 December, members of the university community – students, faculty, and staff – observed ten minutes of silence to stand in solidarity with those who have experienced violence in academic settings and to condemn abuse.

The event also included brief reflections from a representative of the MOME Student Union and Interim Rector Csaba Kovács, expressing empathy and solidarity following the events at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and with everyone who has experienced abuse in academic settings. The MOME community unequivocally condemns any act that violates, or could potentially violate, the human dignity, physical safety, psychological wellbeing, or personal integrity of university citizens.
