Petra Pilbák is a graphic designer and artist. She completed her Master’s degree in Graphic Design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2023, where she has been teaching since 2024. Throughout her studies, her works received recognition through the Best of Graphics award and the Stefan Lengyel Scholarship of Excellence. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in practice, concentrating on post-digital publishing and book design.

Biography
Professional Biography: Petra Pilbák is a graphic designer and artist with a diverse background in graphic arts and design, linguistics and literary studies. Her topics of interest are the evolving nature of reading in the post-digital age, the future of books, and alternative publishing. Her works are marked by a solid conceptual foundation, exploring generative and experimental graphic techniques.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Literary Studies in 2014 from the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with a major in German studies and a minor in English studies. She then completed her BA in Graphic Arts in 2021 at the University of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, specialising in Graphic Design and Printmaking. In 2023, she received her MA degree in Graphic Design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design with a thesis that focuses on the narrative experience in literary texts and the possibilities of content mediation in book design. Her research was completed by a transmedia book based on a literary novel as her masterwork.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in practice in multimedia arts. Building upon her MA thesis and masterwork, her research centres on post-digital book design, multi-sensory reading experiences, the connection between art books and literature, and exploring alternative book publishing techniques.
She participates in exhibitions in Hungary and internationally, and her works appear in professional publications like Slanted and IdN.
In 2024, she showcased her work at the Ars Electronica Festival held in Linz, Austria.
