She is a mathematician and researcher of computer graphics and artificial intelligence. In 2009, she founded the TechLab at MOME, where she carried out research and development in the use of interactive books and digital technology in museums.

Biography

After graduating in mathematics at ELTE, she worked as a research computer scientist at MTA SZTAKI and later at several institutions in the Netherlands. An internationally recognized expert on the virtual agent, she has organised conferences and participated in EU projects. She was the first to design and develop a virtual orchestra conductor and a virtual trainer. 
At the University of Twente in the Netherlands, she established the Creative Technology programme, which combines interdisciplinary, visual, design and technology training, and is popular to this day. 
In the Netherlands, drawing on Hungarian traditions, she established the Vierkant voor Wiskunde (Joy of Mathematics) foundation in 1995, which has been organising camps and other extracurricular activities ever since.
An associate professor at MOME since 2009, she is the founder and head of TechLab. Here, her research has focused on finding new possibilities for applying digital technologies in an interdisciplinary context. The first project involved creating an interactive Hungarian children’s storybook entitled A kiskakas gyémánt félkrajcárja (Little Rooster and His Diamond Ha’penny) for use on tablets, and examining its effects and the design principles of the non-linear, interactive multimedia book. She has led the design of several interactive mobile apps for young people.
In 2010, she introduced the concept of the digital museum. As a digital curator, she has collaborated with nearly 20 museums. In an educational context and with the TechLab creative team, digital applications were designed to enhance visitor experience and interpretation, which have also met with success on international forums.
She currently supervises PhD research in subjects related to the topics listed above.
