MOME KIKI

How can design be well presented?
Project overview
A thematic exhibition project showcasing the end-of-semester projects of students from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, aimed at engaging a broad audience

Teodor Bárány & Natasa Tereh: MOME KIKI

The MOME KIKI project emerged as a pioneering initiative organised by students of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in February 2024. Designed to provide a platform for students to debut their end-of-semester projects to a broader audience, this tradition-setting exhibition originated from an idea by two final-year students in the Art and Design Management programme and was brought to life through the collaborative efforts of a seven-member project team. The exhibition showcased works that, both professionally and conceptually, as well as in terms of their novelty, appropriately represented their respective department.

The curatorial concept centred around the themes of frustration and depression as the recurring motifs in many of the student projects. This focus is reflected by the title of the exhibition – 333 –, a reference to a grounding technique aimed at reducing anxiety. The installation, staged across three distinct spaces, invited visitors on an introspective journey, culminating in an interactive experience designed to foster discussion around the topic.
The MOME KIKI exhibition was awarded a prestigious professional grant by the Deák Erika Gallery in Budapest, further affirming the project’s significance and relevance within the art and design community.
