Other buildings
MOME Base is the base for BA training, with various community and learning spaces, as well as activity-specific teaching spaces. The activity-based student studios (formerly home spaces), which are divisible and can be continuously reconfigured, are designed for complex functions, supporting a range of activities from small group teamwork to formal teaching situations and individual learning. Its basement is home to the Gym.
MOME Ground is the centrally located square and main entrance of the university. As a reception area, it connects to the outside world and links the different buildings on campus. At once a point of arrival and orientation, it serves as a space for community activities; a meeting place both mentally and physically. It is home to the Canteen, and also has the largest indoor event and exhibition venue on campus, it can accommodate 400 people. From here, you can access the library and the 24-hour reception.
In addition to the university management, the building also houses the four institutes (Design, Theory, Architecture, Media), the lecturers’ offices, the Student Service Centre and Registrar’s Office, the Student Council office, the Doctoral Self-Government office, the IT staff offices and the flexible teaching spaces for the training. The large-format, activity-based studios (formerly home spaces), which are also interconnected between levels, are dedicated spaces for students, able to accommodate individual and group learning as well as project situations or recreation.
The first completed block of the TechPark houses professional workshop technologies and primary creative spaces. MOME ONE is the site of classic workshops (textile, metal, wood, vehicle). Booking and release of and capacity consultation concerning workshops/studios and equipment can be performed with workshop managers or in the T_210 TechPark Office.
The other building of TechPark, MOME TWO, is the location for media studios, recording and post-production studios (film, photography, graphics, sound), as well as manual and digital object creation studios/labs (ceramics, plaster, glass, concrete, laser cutting, 3D printing). This building houses our four largest spaces (spatial experimentation, drawing-shaping, photography, film studios) and their service areas – providing facilities for both serious academic work and market work and event hire needs.
MOME UP is the iconic building of the university; in both its architecture and its intellectual content, it represents the innovative energy and progressiveness that permeates the Campus as a whole. It is home to the Innovation Center, a key site for research, development and innovation, the Doctoral School, the EU Projects office, the IP Point, the Library and the Budapest Design Material Library. In addition to the coworking offices, the MOME Global International Office and the Brand Office are also located here, as well as the MOME OPEN and the Project and Production Office.
