At the event, psychologists and therapists will give short introductions to their work with these tools before participants break into themed small-group discussions. These sessions will explore key ethical, design, and impact-assessment questions around VR-based therapies, such as How can the effects of VR experiences be measured? What ethical dilemmas does the virtual environment introduce in therapeutic contexts? And how can VR be tailored for older adults or other vulnerable groups?

The MOME Sonic Atelier is hosting a special Listening Session featuring Trevor Wishart’s The Garden of Earthly Delights, a seventy-minute electroacoustic work presented on the studio’s eight-channel sound system.

The MOME Doctoral School cordially invites you to the thesis defence of graphic designer Balázs Vargha, titled Hungarian National and State Symbols. His research explores the visual heritage and contemporary use of national symbols, while his masterwork presents the visual codification of Hungary’s state emblems. The defence forms part of the Multimedia Arts DLA programme, with Professor Emeritus László Zsótér as the candidate’s supervisor, and Dr Márton Szentpéteri as chair of the defence committee.

No designer wants their work to contribute to the erosion of human relationships, the destruction of the planet, or the growth of social inequality. But how can they find their place in a consumer society?

Working at the intersection of fiction and documentary, and stage and background, German film and video artist Julian Rosefeldt combines cinematography, architecture, theatre and literature in his installations. Particularly interested in the relationship between stage and background, the visible and the hidden, the original and the imitation, his films not only evoke social narratives but also reflect on the moving image itself being an archive, a factory of myths and an experimental space.

This year’s edition of the Future Materials conference turns the spotlight on the challenges of circular material use, and once again brings together leading voices from industry and academia.

Professor of New Media at the University of Novi Sad, Founder of SHARE Lab, researcher, and artist Vladan Joler will visit MOME next week to give a public lecture titled Cartography and Genealogy of Technology and Power.

The Designer-Maker MA programme will host a panel discussion and portfolio review, featuring lecturers Zoltán Lublóy and Tünde Ruzicska in conversation with Ewa Klekot, moderated once again by Bálint Veres. The conversation will explore how designers and craft makers think, and what drives and shapes their creative personas.
