MOME Fashion Show 2025

The MOME Fashion Show is back on 4 September, bringing the latest generation of textile and fashion design talents into the spotlight. The show invites both industry professionals and fashion enthusiasts to discover the latest creations by the next generation of designers on the Zugligeti Road Campus runway. Showcasing over one hundred looks, this year’s event presents more works than ever before, exploring the intersection of contemporary art and design. These autonomous visions use fashion as a medium to respond to current issues and tell deeply personal stories.

The fashion show and exhibition come to life under the curatorship of acclaimed fashion professionals Head of the MA programme Ildikó Kele and educator Dóri Tomcsányi, both of whom have been successfully building their own brands for many years, in collaboration with Head of the BA programme Annamária Simándi-Kövér, assistant lecturer Csenge Vass, and members of the faculty. The students have created distinctive design universes., with this year’s BA collections revolving around the concept of the 'island', and the MA works woven from deeply personal threads.

The runway show, the related exhibition, and the symposium together mark one of the opening event highlights of the 2025 autumn semester.

No designer wants their work to contribute to the erosion of human relationships, the destruction of the planet, or the growth of social inequality. But how can they find their place in a consumer society?

„Global society has not yet understood the distinction between physical expansion and qualitative development. It has passed the stage where more physical expansion is desirable. No widely-shared global goal is now served by having more people or material goods. Now it is important to learn how to advance the development of our species - achieving equity, peace, psychological balance, physical health, environmental quality.” (Dennis Meadows, co-author of Limits to Growth)
