Over the past 30 years, the university has built close partnerships with European academic institutions, implemented international education and research projects, sought to maximise participation by faculty and staff in mobility programmes both within and outside the EU, and become a member of several international professional networks.

We are aware that art and design can only be perceived, interpreted and produced in a diverse and global environment, and for this reason, internationalisation has been and remains a key strategic goal of our university’s institution development. MOME joined the Erasmus programme of the European Union in 1998.

Under a comprehensive development programme, it has recently rebuilt its campus, created new academic facilities, as well as a state-of-the-art technology park and innovation centre, and switched to a new operational and financial model. MOME has transformed and enhanced its educational programmes, launched MA programmes in English language, developed a new RDI portfolio, and participates in international consortium projects as the winner of several Erasmus+ and HORIZON calls.

Our goal is to become a globally recognized, future oriented university, a prominent institution of the European Education Area, which is ready to face the challenges of the 21st century, significantly strengthening and broadening the scope of our internationalisation activity.
