Autonomous Art Practices — methods of self-expression and directions in autonomous art

The Autonomous Art Practices module takes students through a task-based journey of self-discovery that lasts throughout the entire programme. The themes of the design tasks focus on the relationship between various materials, objects, and the body. The goal is to use the tools of self-expression and self-awareness to analyse these concepts with an artistic mindset and a critical approach. A jewellery-focused international programme in collaboration with the Estonian Academy of Arts and Hochschule Trier in Germany also forms part of the module, and students showing dedication to the programme can take part in it. Jewellery designer Flóra Vági is professional lead for the Autonomous Art Practices module.
