Experimental Workshop / RDI

The aim of this module is to encourage students to express abstract ideas, thoughts, and statements using the architectural tools and language they have already acquired through the “learning by doing” methodology, but in an approach removed from architectural scale and functionality. The task is to link an abstract idea with a carefully selected space and material, and then study the interaction and fusion of the two. Unlike with the design assignment set for the BA programme, here students work in teams, creating objects, experiments, installations, and artworks that reflect both on the theoretical concept of the module and the chosen space and material. This shift in scale increases the complexity of the design assignments, both theoretically and structurally.
