With the application period for the position of rector at MOME now closed, two Hungarian and one Dutch professional have submitted valid applications to the maintainer for the university’s top leadership role.
Under the title Unreal Estate, this year’s Krakow Photo Month explores the political, social, and historical entanglements of Central Europe, with particular focus on the relationship between Poland and Germany, as well as the spatial and mnemonic fault lines and questions of identity that continue to shape the region’s history. As a guest of MOME, curator Krzysztof Pijarski will give a talk on how this year’s festival concept came together.
Graduation can feel like a drop after the initial high: You’re left with a strong project, maybe an award-winning diploma work or a bold research idea, but the studios, the mentoring, and the inspiration that comes with being part of a creative community are gone. MOME Incubation picks up right here. At its closing event, LEVEL UP! art & design, fifteen projects were brought into the spotlight.
The fourth Work in Context international photography symposium explores the visual worlds of the post-socialist bloc, this time under the subtitle Peripheral Priorities:!. Organised by the Photography Programme of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), the event also marks two major anniversaries: forty years of photography higher education in Hungary, and two hundred years since the emergence of photography as an art form. Together, these milestones open up a broader frame for rethinking the medium’s artistic and technological evolution, as well as the ways it operates within society. Taking place in Budapest on 28–29 January 2026, the symposium is open to all interested in the theory and practice of photography.
This year’s participants of the Tomorrow Belongs to You scholarship programme have successfully completed the PreMOME preparatory course. They are heading into admissions ready and confident, with many naming Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) as their first choice.
The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design is included in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for Art & Design for the first time, placed in the 101–150 band. The result both reinforces the progress made in recent years and signals the start of a new phase, with MOME set to consolidate its international reputation, visibility, and position with greater intent.

The institutional unit responsible for research and development at MOME. It is an incubator of impact-driven design solutions that are useful for society, and it also conducts long-term research and market collaborations. MOME students and faculty can participate in its activities.

The Technology Park has state-of-the-art workshop and studio facilities for education. With its facilities/machines for experimentation, prototyping, media content development and professional production, and the expertise it provides, it is a place for practical training.
