Balázs Turós

Balázs Turós was born in 1990. After high school he joined the Photography programme at MOME, where he also led the Student Council for two years. After getting his BA degree, he worked in the UK for a year and a half at FotoNow, a non-profit organisation. After moving back to Hungary, he got his Photography MA from MOME. He has held workshops for over 10 years and has been tutoring prospective MOME photography students since 2015. He has been involved in education at MOME since 2023 as a mentor of the Business to Design training programme.

Biography

He was awarded the Pécsi József Photography Grant in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He was one of the fellowship winners of the 2021 Robert Capa Photography Grand Prize Hungary. In 2022, his project entitled The Nature of Things was selected as a finalist of the Łódź Fotofestiwal. In the same year he won the Arts Scholarship Programme of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. In 2023 he was selected to be a photographer of the Futures Photography platform.
