As Principal Investigator of the project “Impact of Ai on preserving the cultural heritage of low-resource languages”, she leads a pioneering research project advancing cultural and linguistic equity in image-generating AI systems. Her project is part of the Heritage in Motion lab at the Future School. her Research and Development courses enabled students to develop innovative new apps ready for implementation.

Biography
Dr. Brigitta Iványi-Bitter is an art historian, cultural studies scholar, and legal expert whose interdisciplinary career bridges academic research, digital innovation, and heritage practice. As Principal Investigator of the project “Impact of AI on preserving the cultural heritage of low-resource languages”, she leads a pioneering research project advancing cultural and linguistic equity in image-generating AI systems.
Holding a PhD in Film, Media, and Cultural Studies and MAs in both Law and Art History, she is uniquely positioned to address the ethical, representational, and legal dimensions of cultural data and artificial intelligence.
She is the author of a monograph on the acknowledged animation director and painter György Kovásznai, published in Budapest and London.
Her work in AI began in Canada, where she developed one of the earliest conversational AI interfaces for a stylized animated video-generating AI tool at the University of Waterloo’s AC Studio. Now a research fellow at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), she leads Hungary’s most comprehensive research initiative on AI and cultural representation, focusing on equitable infrastructure for low-resource language communities.
