Dávid Biró’s work is characterised by his interest in technology and his critical examination of it. His goal is to use his projects to map the technological environment that defines our day-to-day lives, and then by examining various phenomena to discover the social and political effects of technology. Dávid obtained his master’s degree in photography from MOME. He is currently an external lecturer on the MOME photography MA programme.
Biography
He is a member of the new generation of Hungarian photographers. His works are regularly featured at Hungarian and international arts festivals and exhibitions, including at the Ludwig Museum, MODEM, Q Contemporary, the Capa Centre and the Mai Manó House. Dávid obtained his degrees at the University of Kaposvár and MOME. He used to be represented by the Trapéz Gallery. In 2018, he was a finalist of the Dutch ING Unseen Talent Award and in 2022, he won the MODEM Prize. He was also awarded the József Pécsi creator’s scholarship. His works are featured in the Balázs–Dénes and the ING private collections, among others.
