Éva Szombat is a photographer who lives and works in Budapest. She gained a Master's degree in Photography from MOME in 2012 and studied Visual Communication at Esag Penninghain in Paris. She is currently a PhD student and teacher of photography in the MOME Photography Department.

Biography

Éva Szombat is a photographer who lives and works in Budapest. She gained a Master's degree in Photography from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in 2012 and studied Visual Communication at Esag Penninghain in Paris. Her work explores the phenomena of happiness and mental well-being and how they emerge in people's lives. She has published two books on the subject: Happiness and Practitioners. In 2021, she won the Capa Grand Prize for her series I want Orgasms, not Roses. She has had her photos published in several Hungarian and foreign magazines and on websites, such as Vice, Huffington Post, GUP magazine, Vanity Fair Italy and Vogue Spain. Her works have been exhibited in Budapest, New York, Jerusalem, Amsterdam, Vienna, Lisbon, Bogotá and other cities. She is currently a PhD student and teacher of photography in the MOME Photography Department.
