Gábor Kopek is a photographer, media artist, and university professor. A former rector of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, he is the founder of university course in photography and videography, as well as visiting professor at various European universities. He initiated and oversaw the establishment of the new MOME Campus. He founded 21st Laboratory, and is head of its artistic and research programme.

Biography

He lives and works in Budapest. Exhibiting artist, university professor at MOME, guest professor in Berlin. He got his DLA degree in 2002, and from 2006 to 2014 he was the rector of MOME. He was one of the founders of MOME Laboratory in 2013, and in 2015, he became the director of Collegium Hungaricum Berlin. He founded 21st Laboratory in 2019, and since 2020, he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
