Biography

Malu Lücking is a biodesigner and material researcher in the Conscious Textile Group at MOME Innovation Center. She graduated with a bachelor's from the department of textile and surface design at the Art Academy in Berlin, and she holds a master's degree in biodesign from Central St. Martins, University Of The Arts in London. Driven by her fascination for tenable outputs, in recent years Malu’s work has been all about exploring the future of materials. Her work focuses on the potential of algae as a new material and future food while also exploring ways of reclaiming textile waste and turning it into new and valuable products. She co-founded the material innovation start-up mujō in 2020, and her work has been recognised by a variety of international awards.
