Biography

Driven by her fascination for tangible outputs, for the past years, Malu’s work has focused on exploring climate-resilient resources for the future of our food and materials, including unconventional, sustainable materials derived from natural and waste resources, such as algae, fungi, agricultural by-products, and plant-based polymers. Her innovative approach integrates biology, design, and technology to create new materials and systems that reduce environmental impact and promote circularity.

She co-founded the material innovation start-up mujō in 2020 and her work has been recognised by various international awards.
