Zsófia Szonja Illés is a researcher and lecturer at MOME MAG placemaking and ecological design. She graduated from the Master of Environmental Design course at the Glasgow School of Art, where she continued her studies as a teaching assistant and researcher. She is an external lecturer at the GSA, the Open University and KISD. She is studying for a DLA in Applied Arts at MOME.
Biography
Zsófia is a multidisciplinary designer and researcher. She works with participatory design and participatory methodologies, mainly in the fields of placemaking and ecological design. She graduated from the Master of Environmental Design course at the Glasgow School of Art, where she continued her studies as a teacher and researcher till 2021. She is a lecturer at The Glasgow School of Art Innovation School, The Open University and KISD university in Cologne. She works as a researcher and lecturer on the MAG project at MOME. Her design and art work, as well as her ongoing doctoral research at MOME, explore the relationship between people and ecology and propose creative participatory methods to involve not only people, but also other parts of the ecosystem in the research and design process. Her current work focuses on sensory mapping of wetlands.
