After extensive research, Máté Bendegúz Asztalos envisioned the Mercedes-Benz taxi of the near future: a self-driving eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft that can easily travel between skyscrapers as a service for vertically sprawling megacities.
Targeting the upper class of Dubai, which is at the forefront of introducing new technologies, the group focused on Maybach, a luxury brand with a distinctive design language. The biggest challenge according to Asztalos was to achieve the right proportions for the model, not just from the traditional perspectives of a car, but from any view around 360 degrees.
During his six-month internship at Mercedes' studio in Sindelfingen, he was able to present his work, with the help of Robert Lešnik, to Gorden Wagener, who commissioned a 1:4 scale model of the young Hungarian designer's work.
