This group anthropological research project investigated the everyday life of a football team in the countryside and sought to describe the role of an amateur sports club in the life of Vértestolna, a village in Komárom-Esztergom county. The research was based on personal observations and informal interviews, which provided a nuanced overview of the life of the association and the impact of football in maintaining and shaping the identity of the village. In the course of the research, football emerged as a complex system of communication that shed light on the values, hierarchies and traditions of the local community. During his personal observations, Gergő Áprili became a member of the team, an experience which he summarised in a twenty-six page publication illustrated with his photographs.
