Morphogenetic Horizons of Regenerative Materiality in Architecture
The material turn in architecture—particularly as a response to the complex challenges of the global polycrisis—is not merely reactive, but a fertile, creative terrain where matter is not a passive element, but an active co-creator shaping the design process. The study centers on the interrelations of material–process–structure in regenerative materials: the morphogenetic potential that enables form-finding based on the intrinsic logic of matter, while the perceptual and atmospheric qualities of natural materials become defining components of spatial experience.
The research methodology is inherently experimental, grounded in physical exploration, whose application-oriented extension is enabled through corporate collaboration within the framework of the KDP grant. The aim of the research and the grant is to bring an experiment—or series of experiments—within a material–form relational network, whether a technological solution or product, to TRL 6–7 within the corporate framework, in parallel with independent experiments (installations, objects, pavilions) and their theoretical reflections conducted as part of the doctoral research.
