From a single idea to a movement - Massimo Banzi, Arduino in Budapest

Twenty years ago, Banzi helped launch the Arduino platform — and with it, a new way of learning, making, and thinking about technology. In his talk, Open Sourcing Innovation, he will explore how open innovation has shaped the future of design, education, and maker communities around the world. The talk will be followed by an informal conversation.
Banzi has played a pivotal role in democratizing electronics and fostering a global community of innovators. His career includes his tenure as an Associate Professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, where he developed accessible tools for designers and artists. He has also worked as a consultant for renowned brands such as Prada, Artemide, Persol, Whirlpool, and Adidas. In addition to his contributions as a practitioner, Banzi is an accomplished author, of the widely used book Getting Started with Arduino, and played a key role in founding Italy’s first FabLab, Officine Arduino. Currently, Banzi teaches at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID).
The presentation and the following discussion will take place on April 16 at 4 PM in the Space Experimental Studio, located in the MOME TWO building at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (Budapest, Zugligeti út 9, 1121). The event will be held in English.
