Why does the tech industry keep building products nobody wants? - A conversation with Emmanuel Maggiori
While the former exposes the deceptively simple mechanisms behind both the impressive successes and spectacular failures of artificial intelligence, the latter uncovers the processes, scams, and wastage concealed by the tech hype, explaining how we all end up paying the price.
Maggiori is renowned for building full-stack products in record time, including software that processes thousands of real-time requests per second and generates millions in revenue. As a consultant, he assists start-ups with product definition and problem-solving, and helps companies tackle the challenges of building complex software.
Maggiori completed his studies at the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires in Argentina, before earning a PhD in Computer Science from Université Côte d’Azur. During his PhD, he researched artificial intelligence methods for automated satellite image analysis. He has since worked as a data scientist in the travel industry and currently operates as a freelance software engineer, data scientist, and lecturer.
Emmanuel Maggiori will join Máté Milovits for a discussion at the event Why Does the Tech Industry Keep Building Products Nobody Wants?
The event takes place as part of the Global Voices initiative.
