Better Leaders, Better World: the CEO of MOME was awarded

Date: 2024.10.01
The “Better Leaders, Better World” award has been presented for the third time, and in 2024, Réka Matheidesz, the CEO of MOME (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design), was honored with the accolade. This award continues to recognize leaders who not only believe in creating a fairer, more compassionate society but actively work toward it through their leadership.

“This award means a lot to me because it acknowledges the philosophy that has shaped my professional journey: bringing together business, social, and artistic perspectives, as only this holistic approach can offer exciting and innovative solutions to the most critical challenges,” said Matheidesz when reflecting on the significance of the award.

More and more successful leaders are excelling not just in their professional roles but are also making personal contributions to positively impact their immediate or broader environment, beyond the scope of corporate social responsibility programs. The jury witnessed numerous examples of this type of social responsibility while reviewing this year’s applications.

Nominees for this year’s “Better Leaders, Better World” award included individuals supporting the success of Hungarians living abroad, offering platforms for communication and knowledge-sharing for Hungarian designers, and raising donations for foundations through clothing recycling initiatives. Others focus on local community development, advancing gender equality for women, or mentoring disadvantaged young people.

The jury comprised Nóra L. Ritók, founder of the Igazgyöngy Foundation; József Balatoni, best-selling author; Réka Nagy, known as Ökoanyu; Botond Storcz, Olympic champion; and Enikő Bereczki, a generational expert.

At the award ceremony held on September 26, 2024, at the Anantara New York Palace in Budapest, Réka Matheidesz was joined by Dr. Dávid Bauer (Mol Group, Internal Audit, Organization Design & Corporate Governance) in receiving the prestigious award.
