MOME alumni receives this year’s MODEM Award

This year’s Modem Award ceremony took place on 29 July, and the award went to Dávid Bíró.

The Modem Award is presented by the Modern and Contemporary Arts Centre to emerging Hungarian fine artists and invited applications from art students graduating from a Hungarian art university or college this year. MOME Photography MA graduate Dávid Bíró was selected from 60 applicants and 7 finalists for his works featuring digital technology and its effects.

The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) has announced an open call for applications for the position of Rector. The call has been issued by the maintainer of the university, the Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
As a poet, university professor, linguist, literary translator and publicist, Ádám Nádasdy was described as a sensitive seismograph and a shaping presence in Hungary’s intellectual and social life, when receiving the Moholy-Nagy Award, one of our university’s most important accolades. An inspiring thinker and speaker, an outstanding poet and a translator of lasting significance, he died at the age of 79. Alongside his works, one of his most enduring legacies lies in showing that teaching may be practiced with humour and elegance, and that life and science are not separate, but part of the same world.
The Fresh Rooster Film Days spot by MOME Anim will compete at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival alongside music videos by global stars.
