Second cohort completes spring semester of the ‘Tomorrow Belongs to You’ scholarship programme

Date: 2025.07.17
Eighteen gifted secondary school students from disadvantaged backgrounds successfully completed the spring semester of ‘Tomorrow Belongs to You – For the Creative Talents of the Future’, MOME’s scholarship programme for 2025. The initiative gave them the chance to explore the worlds of design, architecture, visual communication, art, and innovation up close, while helping them prepare for further studies in the creative industries. The semester wrapped up with a celebration in July.

Running from February, the intensive programme spanned twelve weekends, with sessions held every other weekend on the MOME Campus in Budapest. It also included Spark, the university’s talent development programme, which encourages reflective thinking, creative exploration, and a deeper understanding of how the creative industries work. Under the guidance of MOME faculty, student mentors, and industry professionals, students were introduced to the foundations of design-based thinking and creative practice, with a focus on discovery, questioning, and experimentation – all central to MOME’s educational approach.

Their weekends at MOME weren’t just about professional development – they also became part of a welcoming and supporting community. Alongside the workshops, they engaged in activities that helped them get to know each other and enjoy time together outside the classroom. They also explored Budapest, visiting key cultural and creative institutions such as the Hungarian National Gallery, the Hungarian National Museum and the House of Music Hungary, and went on a group hike to Hárs Hill.

At the end of the semester, each student gave a short presentation to the programme committee, reflecting on what they’d learned and experienced. The committee gave personal feedback to support their development and gave clear guidance on which fields to pursue and how best to continue their journey in the creative sector.

One of the most lasting results of the programme was the strong friendships that formed along the way. The group became a close-knit, open community that continued beyond the programme itself, offering support, encouragement and inspiration. They’ll be meeting again soon at MOME’s summer camp, where they’ll explore the university’s BA courses in more detail.
