The Board of Trustees of MOME unanimously appointed Csaba Kovács as Acting Rector

The Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design unanimously appointed Csaba Kovács, Ybl and Prima Primissima Award-winning architect, as Acting Rector of MOME on 20 March 2025, in accordance with the recommendation of the University Senate. The mandate of the Acting Rector runs until the end of the academic year 2025-26.
Beyond the smooth running of academic operations, the acting rector’s main responsibilities include working closely with the CEO to build the framework for future collaboration with the Foundation and prepare the process for selecting the next rector.
Prior to the vote of the Board of Trustees, on 3 March, the Senate of MOME elected Csaba Kovács to the position of Acting Rector of the University with a 70% majority. In a confirmation vote of confidence following the vote, more than 90% of the Senate supported his nomination.

Both are professionals who believe in the transformative power of design and education, and whose impact reaches well beyond MOME itself. Now in its third year, the Aurum Futuri Award recognises MOME’s most outstanding educators and researchers, highlighting the value they create through mentoring, educational renewal, and research.
