The Rector’s proposals to enhance dialogue for MOME’s future
Date: 2025.02.03
Today, the Rector of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Pál Koós has presented a series of proposals aimed at resolving some outstanding issues related to MOME’s ongoing revitalisation process.
- The first proposal suggests that, contrary to previous regulations and considering the criticisms of the current practice, decisions regarding the leadership of the newly established knowledge centres will no longer be made by the Rector, but by the community of each knowledge centre.
- The second proposal introduces a new online platform where members of the MOME community can share their suggestions for improving and facilitating the transformation process. Proposals that receive the community’s approval will be implemented from the spring of 2025 onwards.
- The third proposal offers MOME students a variety of opportunities to actively engage in the transformation process, ranging from improving student services and internal operations to developing new experimental courses.
These proposals are designed to strengthen the trust and participation of the university community, foster MOME’s continued growth and further the ongoing revitalisation efforts.
To ensure the swift implementation of these initiatives, the Rector has begun consultations with members of the Senate and representatives from the university’s professional hubs.

With profound sorrow, we say goodbye to Chief of Cabinet to the Rector Nikoletta Lakatos, who passed away at the age of barely 40 after a sudden and aggressive illness. Her career was cut tragically short, yet its impact far exceeded the time she had, and it is hard to accept that someone who brought such warmth and vitality is no longer here with us.
