Fold Lamp is a new take on the old adage ‘Less is more’, a mindset demonstrated in this project by the interplay of production technology, materials, and forms.
Fold Lamp is a new take on the old adage ‘Less is more’, a mindset demonstrated in this project by the interplay of production technology, materials, and forms. The most distinctive elements of the lamp are the two bent and pressed metal sheets with folds for reinforcement.
Those working from home may be familiar with the practice of turning the lamp to face the wall instead of switching it off at the end of the work day to provide a soft diffuse light. Fold Lamp recreates that experience, and can be used as both a work and mood light. With a simple hand motion, it can be folded down to fill the room with a diffused glow.
