Bagrack is an office dressboy – a combination coat hanger and backpack hold – designed for storing the bags and other personal belongings of people in conventional and co-working office spaces. The focus of the design assignment this year was offices and office life. The background research, consisting largely of interviews and workshops, revealed that most office workplaces in Hungary do not have a dedicated item for storing bags and backpacks, which means staff is forced to place their belongings on the ground, a chair or other places. It is a minor but all the more annoying problem which could be easily addressed with the help of a good design. Bagrack is a versatile rack accommodating office workers’ needs for keeping their bags in a safe place and within easy reach. For this purpose, the storage surface of the item has been positioned to allow covering of the bag with a coat or jacket for added security.
