Project overview
On 11 March 2020, the Hungarian government declared a public health state of danger due to the explosive worldwide spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and its arrival in Hungary.
During the voluntary quarantine, we locked ourselves in our homes, those who could worked from home, and our lives changed. From the very first moment, and I got my camera and took pictures from my balcony. Standing out there and watching became a comforting daily routine, even a survival strategy. Meanwhile, I slowly got to know the street where I have lived for ten years.
This series is about life – about how quickly we can adapt to changing circumstances, circumstances we could never have imagined a few months ago. As I started taking pictures and looking at this Kenyeres utca series more and more seriously as a project of my own, life found its way back to the street and to me.
