Közösségi utca Újbudán

The design task aimed to generate ideas for the community development of the vacant site of the former military cemetery at the Budaörsi út exit. Maintaining and complementing the site's assets, a new community street was designed, connecting Budaörsi út with the residential area, and tending to the needs of the residents with multifunctional and multi-generational (cultural, educational, recreational and sports) spaces. Besides the building, the plan also focuses on the pedestrian and bicycle paths leading to it. The building is a harmonious, attractive steel-framed structure shaped like a ship, with a narrower nave for traffic and a wider section for small CLT pavilions (event space, community centre, café-bakery and facility management rooms) and covered outdoor sports facilities (playground, slide, climbing wall, swings). The large paved area outside the building can be used for sports and community events.
