Mycelium Applications in Packaging

Feasibility Study
Project overview
Mapping what possibilities are available to help reduce plastic pollution using mycelium.
Biodegradable packaging is at the forefront of packaging material research, since plastic pollution of our ecosystems and changes in customer behavior demand new materials to be developed and used in the packaging industry.
Mycelium based biocomposites are promising candidates for next generation packaging. We started to investigate which species work best with which recipes in order to reach the best properties of the material.
